2017 was the Year Digital Ad Spending Finally Beat TV

According to Magna, the research arm of media buying firm IPG Mediabrands, digital ad spending reached $209 billion worldwide which is 41 percent of the market in 2017, while TV brought in $178 billion which is 35 percent of the market in 2017. Marketers expect the gap to continue to widen with all of the technological advances within social.

Influencer Marketing as a Fundamental Brand Strategy

In 2017, influencers have entrenched themselves as defining voices in consumer marketing. Brands are willingly handing over the reigns as they look to passionate brand advocates to sway consumers on social media and it will not be letting up anytime soon. In fact, over 90 percent of marketers who employ an influencer marketing strategy believe it is successful. And companies like North Face, Hubspot and Rolex use social media–based influencer marketing strategies to connect with new audiences and improve engagement with existing audiences.

The Rise of Augmented Reality

Many of you might think we sound like a broken record, but in 2017 we saw huge strides for AI being a part of the daily landscape. Remember when Apple announced the iPhone 8 and the iPhone X?
