Social Distillery Employee Spotlight — Alex Brazie
Our Social Distillery family is growing, as we add yet another bright new member to our team. Meet our new Senior Account Manager, Alex Brazie!
Where did you grow up?
I grew up in the great Gem City, also referred to as Dayton, Ohio. Known for being the birthplace of aviation, as well as the Crossroads of America, it’s a pretty great place to grow up.
What jobs did you have prior to Social Distillery?
My past roles have primarily focused on clients within the food industry, which has been great because I love eating and have been able to surround myself with amazing food for the last five years. Throughout my career, I’ve had opportunities to develop my skills across a broad range of marketing departments and industries, primarily within the agency and client service world.
What drew you to the social media industry?
I enjoy working in an industry that requires you to live in the moment. Working in a “real-time” medium requires you to always be thinking on your toes. I also enjoy working in a space that allows for humor and that encourages brands to think outside of the box.
What are some of your favorite brands to follow on social?
Some of my favorites brands to follow on social are within the beauty and food industries. I love Becca Cosmetics, NARS, and Sephora for beauty, and Austin food bloggers and event-based handles like When Where What Austin and Best Food Austin for information on upcoming food trends and new eateries in the area.
What hobbies do you have and do you think they make you better at your job?
Barre workouts are a great way to decompress and refresh after a long day at work. I like to think that my love affair with wine also helps with that. Playing tennis has always been something that has brought out my competitive side, which I think is an important trait to possess as a professional. Additionally, cooking has always been a passion of mine, which helps me with my work in that you have to pay attention to the details and be a great multi-tasker both in the kitchen and in the office.
What is your favorite place to eat in Austin?
What is your favorite social media platform, and why?
Instagram, for sure. I love the beautiful images, funny memes, and the rabbit holes you find yourself in for hours if you start looking at new accounts.
What’s one fun fact most people don’t know about you?
I snack, A LOT. You can usually find me by following a trail of half-eaten snacks around the office.
